SYSTAINER 101

History of systainer®
NEW TO SYSTAINERsystainer® was first developed in 1993 for Festool with the Classic Line, the first stackable, linkable tool box system in the market. With 4 latches to seal and connect these systainers, they were innovative but still not the ideal convenient solution for someone on the go.
HISTORY OF SYSTAINER

DESCRIPTION
systainer® was first developed in 1993 for Festool with the Classic Line, the first stackable, linkable tool box system in the market. With 4 latches to seal and connect these systainers, they were innovative but still not the ideal convenient solution for someone on the go.
In 2010, after a lot of market feedback, the T-Loc generation of systainer resolved this pain point by providing an easy single T-Loc catch that could be twisted to connect, open, and close systainers with just one hand.
While a massive improvement on the first generation, the T-Loc generation still had some shortcomings. The lid had to be in the perfect position to properly close, and the design wasn't optimized for mobility. In 2019, Systainer³ was created in cooperation between TANOS, Bott, and Festool with a consistent mobility concept. The latest and greatest design is able to close easily without any issues and has guides on the sides to integrate into Bott van, trailer and workshop racking, so it can be taken from workshop to van to worksite without any hassle.
All three generations remain compatible with each other.

HISTORY OF SYSTAINER

DESCRIPTION
The Systainer³ comes in 5 different widths: XXS, S, M, L, and XXL. The name of the systainer tells you the footprint and height. For instance, a Systainer³ M 187 is the M width and 187mm tall.
Here are the breakdowns for the heights available in each width:
- XXS: 33mm
At just 4.13" wide, the smallest systainers are commonly used for small bit sets and business cards. - S: 76mm, 147 mm
These compact cases are 10.43" wide, great for hand tools, small power tools, and bit sets that take up a little more space like hole saws and forstner bits. You can make the S 76 compatible with the M, L, and XXL footprints by using a Sysatiner³ Rack, which stores and transports six Systainer³ S 76. - M: 89mm (Organizers only), 112mm, 137mm, 187mm, 237mm, 337mm, 437mm
The most common systainer at 15.59" wide, these are used for anything from power tools to caulk tubes. - L: 89mm (Organizers only), 137mm, 187mm, 237mm
The L footprint is 19.74" wide and is most commonly used for power tools that need some extra space for hose or backup batteries. - XXL: 237mm, 337mm
At 31.18" wide, the XXL is the biggest systainer. These are like a lightweight trunk you can use to store and transport bulkier tools like chainsaws and telescopes, or sets of materials like holiday décor and camping gear.

For all M, L, and XXL systainers, the handles are available in all the aforementioned colors, PLUS signal green and white, and the catch colors are in all the available handle colors PLUS signal blue, the catch color that typically comes on a light gray systainer.
Even Organizers, Sortainers, Carts, and Systainer S can be built to order with our colorful catches.
The most common reason for customizing a systainer is color coding for different tool types or brands, but some of our customers do it to align with their business's brand or even just because they like the colors.
Another way to customize your systainer is with labels. There are two label fields that you can either use as a flat surface for a sticker label or slide a label card in. We have available label card paper, or you can make your own. The labels can be printed with photos as well to make the tool you're looking for especially easy to find.

Will It Fit: Nintendo DS in a Systainer³ S 76

HISTORY OF SYSTAINER

DESCRIPTION
In this Will It Fit episode, Noah creates a snug fit for his Nintendo DS, game cartridges, and power cable.
Noah used a Carmine Red Systainer³ S 76 with vaulted lid foam and kaizen foam. The kaizen foam is manufactured in layers, making it easy to cut to the exact depths you need for any tool or prized possession. In fact, the kaizen foam is so easy to cut that Noah created this home for his DS using nothing but a steak knife (not our recommendation, but hey, it worked ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯).

Carts: Old vs. New
MOBILITYLearn about the differences and similarities between the old generation cart and the new Systainer³ cart.
HISTORY OF SYSTAINER

DESCRIPTION
Learn about the differences and similarities between the old generation cart and the new Systainer³ cart.
The old generation has a tray that the M footprint of systainer nests into. It's side clasps were made to lock onto the original Classic Line systainers, but all M footprint systainers can attach here.
The new cart attaches with the front catch mechanism, which means that only a T-Loc generation or Systainer³ generation can go on the bottom of the stack. Because it no longer has the nesting tray, an M, L or XXL can easily attach here without any issues.
Two of the casters include locking clasps to keep your stack from moving around.
The Systainer³ cart also has integrated rails to store the cart into Bott racking.

Mobile Workstation MW 1000
MOBILITYThe Mobile Workshop MW 1000 is a great way to transport systainers and doubles as a mobile work surface you can take with you to any jobsite.
HISTORY OF SYSTAINER

DESCRIPTION
The Mobile Workshop MW 1000 is a great way to transport systainers and doubles as a mobile work surface you can take with you to any jobsite.
The top has an MDF work surface with a V groove, recessed trays, a t track style profile on the side, and holes on top for clamps.
Underneath, an AZ drawer allows you to pull out a systainer without having to remove the systainer from the stack. The height of the drawer is adjustable, and the entire mechanism can be removed and re-positioned. The tension can also be adjusted with an easy knob.
The bottom tray can accept any M footprint systainer, and there's actually a small slot in the center that perfectly fits the S 76.
With just a few quick maneuvers, the work table can be added to extend the work surface and provide a full collapsible worktable in tight spaces.
